North Women FAM Cup finals to be replayed
The National Women Football Association (NWFA) has directed that the abandoned finals of the Under-20 FAM Cup between Moyale Youth and CY Sisters be replayed on Saturday.
The ill-fated game was given to Moyale, but a disciplinary hearing that took place on Monday reversed the decision in favour of a replay.
NWFA president Severia Chalira said it was agreed that the game be replayed and that the team that caused the abandonment be punished.
“From the report I have, CY Sisters were in the wrong. Instead of disqualifying them, they will be fined, but the committee is yet to determine the punishment,” said Chalira.
She has since announced that the Under-20 FAM Cup finals will take place from January 10 to 11 at Mzuzu Stadium.
DD Sunshine and Blantyre Zero will represent the Centre and South respectively in the national finals.
