Even with the luxury of needing just a point from a possible 15 to seal the TNM Super League title, leaders Big Bullets are not resting on their laurels.

The People’s Team has 54 points from 23 games and Blue Eagles is the only team whose potential maximum points are 54. Second-placed Mafco are trailing by 14 points.

However, Bullets team manager Rahim Ishmael yesterday dismissed suggestions that they are already in the promised land.

“I will not be drawn into mind games. The title is within touching distance, but football is such an unpredictable sport in which the tide can swing any time.

“We can sniff it and I am sure we are going to win it. It could be on Wednesday [tomorrow] against Azam Tigers or next month, but we will get that precious point,” he said.

The former Bullets midfielder recalled that during the 2007 season, their rivals Be Forward Wanderers needed just a point to win the league with four games to play, but their dream went up in smoke.

“So, we are not in the comfort zone yet. It is important that we take extra caution.”

Apart from Tigers, the People’s Team has to face Blue Eagles, Civo United and relegation-battlers Fisd Wizards.
