Poly student forms church

A fourth-year student at the Malawi Polytechnic Pastor Limbani Ng’ambi has launched what he is calling Life Givers Faith Ministries in Blantyre.

Ng’ambi told Nation on Sunday last week that although some people believe that the country does not need new churches anymore, God will continue to raise new faith groups so that everybody receives the gospel before the end of the world.

“It is not that I just made up my mind to form a church. I felt the call of God to do so,” said Ng’ambi.

The youthful pastor said God wants him to reach out to as many people as possible and win their souls to the creator.

“The second purpose is to teach people the true gospel as desired by the author [God]. Let me stress that I have no reason to justify my ministry as the best, but focus on preaching the gospel,” said Ng’ambi.

He also disclosed that time has come for churches and pastors to stop justifying themselves as the best places of miracles and all sorts of spiritual needs, arguing that God has a purpose for every church or pastor.

“I have noted this tendency among us [pastors or ministries] to tout ourselves as the best. This shouldn’t be the case in religion because it is not a competition. Instead, churches and pastors must now preoccupy themselves with preaching the gospel,” he said.

The ministry, which currently meets at Radson Private Secondary School in Blantyre, has organised a crusade to evangelise Chilobwe residents in the city.
