The Standard Bank Joy of Jazz Concert to showcase South African Afro-soul sensation Zahara is getting positive response, and tickets have nearly sold out.

Zahara is expected to perform at the Chinese-built President’s Hotel in Malawi’s capital, Lilongwe, on September 22.

She will perform alongside Wambali Mkandawire as part of celebrations for the bank’s 42 years of operation in Malawi and 150 years of Standard Bank Group doing business in Africa.

The bank’s head of marketing Linda Kachingwe-Sisya said tickets are sold through the bank’s branches and during various activations in the capital. She could, however, not say how many tickets have been sold so far.

“Our customers and jazz lovers alike are very thrilled by the prospect of experiencing Zahara and Wambali performing together live on stage,” she.

Born Bulelwa Mkutukana, Zahara is an award winning singer-and songwriter who turned tables at the South African Music Awards in May when she scooped eight awards, including best female artist and best album award for her debut Loliwe.
