Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) president Rosy Chinunda has urged Malawians to pray for Queens’ success at the Commonwealth Games in Scotland, where they are expected to face Northern Ireland in their opening match tomorrow.

She has also advised local netball lovers to boost the morale of the national team by posting encouraging messages and statements on various online pages such as Facebook and Twitter so that the outfit can improve on their fifth position in the world and probably bring home a medal.

Said Chinunda: “I plead with Malawians to pray hard to Almighty God in order for our team to succeed.

“We are in a tough group where we can easily triumph if we join hands in seeking divine intervention.

“To all the local Facebookers, I say please, let us post encouraging remarks on our walls.”

Malawi Queens’ squad comprises Mwawi Kumwenda (Tactix of New Zealand); Beatrice Mpinganjira, Grace Mwafulirwa Mhango, Sindi Simtowe and Lauren Ngwira (Complex Tigresses); Caroline Mtukule-Ngwira and Towera Vinkhumbo (Diamonds); Takondwa Lwazi and Joyce Mvula (Blue Eagles Sisters); Tina Kamzati and Jane Chimaliro (Civonets), and Joana Kachilika (MTL Queens).
