Protea Hotels by Marriott named coolest hotel brand

For the ninth consecutive year, Protea Hotels by Marriott has been named South Africa’s Coolest Hotel Brand in The Sunday Times Generation Next Survey for 2019.

This recognition further re-enforces the brand’s deep understanding of a rapidly evolving market and its growing traction in South Africa, according to the survey.

In Malawi, Ryalls Hotel, which is owned by Malawi Stock Exchange (MSE)-listed hotel chain Blantyre Hotels plc, is also managed by Protea Hotels by Marriot and trades as Protea Hotel by Marriott Blantyre Ryalls.

Protea Hotels by Marriot area director for sales and marketing Danny Bryer said they deliver a personalised experience that caters to the demands of a forever young demographic has been at the core of everything they do.

“We know it is important to stay ahead of the game and we constantly challenge ourselves to go above and beyond,” he said.

Now in its 13th year, Generation Next polls the opinions of 5 675 of South African youth ranging from eight to 22 years in urban and peri-urban environments in six provinces.

Protea Hotels by Marriott has over 90 hotels in Africa.
