Purple seek win over Orange

Despite defeat to Mpingwe Sports Club (MSC) White last weekend, MSC Purple have vowed to earn victory over giants MSC Orange at the Oriental Cricket Club (OCC) this Sunday.

MSC Purple captain Soyeb Shikh, whose team lost 97-173 runs to MSC White in the MSC, OCC Cricket League, said they will have special preparations to end their losing streak against MSC Orange.

According to Shikh, they have been meeting MSC Orange several times in the last five years, but they have always been defeated.

“We have suffered too long,” he said. “This time around, we are determined to stop them in their tracks for the first time. We are confident of achieving that feat.”

Nevertheless, MSC Orange coach/player Khalil Badat challenged that MSC Purple will remain their underdogs even this Sunday.

A win for MSC Purple will mean two victories in three matches and they will remain with five matches in their hunt for a semi-final slot in the nine-team league.

MSC Orange will have a third straight victory if they triumph in this encounter.

The match, which will take place in the morning, will be preceded by a game between MSC White and MSC Gold Fattani. At MSC, MSC Grey will face MSC Black in the morning before MSC Silver take on MSC Blue.

Last weekend, a match between MSC Silver and OCC ended abruptly due to a showery weather. The two shared points, according to the league’s organising committee chairperson Saeed Limdawala.
