The Queens, who have slumped by a step to position six on the world rankings, are expected to start their revival campaign against their fiercest rivals South Africa’s Proteas on Friday at 4.40am, hours before the opening ceremony at 11am.

“We are excited to be bringing this world event to our GOtv subscribers; it continues to show our commitment to developing the sport and our support for the Queens,” said Nyirenda, adding that, all the other matches during the competition will also be covered live.

The next engagement for the national netball team will be against Sri Lanka on Saturday at 11.15am. They will face Singapore in the last preliminary round match on Sunday at 10.15am.

At least 16 national teams will be battling it out in the international contest. Africa will be represented by Malawi, South Africa, Uganda and Zambia. Previously, only Malawi and South Africa represented the continent at the event.

The African nations will be hunting for the crown against top-ranked teams Australia (number one), New Zealand (number two), England (number three) and Jamaica (number four). n
