Sadzi CDSS storm into Matindi last 8

Sadzi Community Day Secondary School on Sunday beat Ndirande Institute Secondary School 6-0 in the Matindi Academy Southern Region Women Football Tournament.

 

The lunch-hour encounter was played at Zomba Community Centre ground. The win has earned Sadzi a quarter-final berth against Namalimwe CDSS who thrashed Njedza CDSS 8-0 on the same day.

Sadzi capitalised on defensive frailities of their opponents and their win was courtesy of braces from Chikondi Mtumodzi, Eneless Mhango and Chrissy Kasiya.

The visitors conceded five goals in the second-half prompting their goalkeeper Jessie Meleka to walk out in goals, accusing teammates of not assisting her. She was replaced by Patuma Kuleti.

Misses by the visitors’ striking duo of Iviness Ndeule and Grace Chintokoma forced the technical bench to bark instructions time and again, but to no avail.

Ndirande Institute captain Edith Julius said her team was demoralised by poor officiation whereas her counterpart, Tisadane Bokosi, said she was happy with the wide margin victory. She promised fireworks in their next game.
