Safintra Malawi yesterday presented iron sheets worth K1.5 million to Nation Publications Limited’s (NPL) Fathers’ Day Project.

Every year, NPL and its partners celebrate Fathers’ Day with presentation of as sorted teaching and learning aids and other materials to needy schools.

This year, NPL and its partners, including Safintra Malawi, will donate teaching and learning aids and build a laboratory at St Augustine Community Day Secondary School in Nkhata Bay.

The school’s deputy head teacher Nathan Munthali in an interview recently said the school is in dire need of a laboratory, books, sports equipment and other materials.

“We have some science apparatus, but we do not have a laboratory,” said Munthali.

Speaking after presenting the iron sheets, Safintra Malawi operations manager Jayanta Chakravarty said his company was deeply touched by the plight of the school, hence, the donation.

“Our company realizes that these are some of our customers and we’d not be happy to see them suffering like that. Overall, we are very grateful to Nation Publications Limited for highlighting the plight of the school. Otherwise, we would not have known,” he said.

He pledged continued support to NPL’s initiatives aimed at reducing pain and suffering of the underprivileged.

NPL administration officer Nyangu Phiri thanked Safintra for the donation.

“On behalf of NPL management, I thank Safintra for this support.

We hope we are going to sustain our relationship for the sake of our customers,” Phiri said
