Saka wins SRWB golf tournament
Yotamu Saka on Saturday emerged champion of the Southern Region Water Board (SRWB) golf tournament at Zomba Golf Club grounds.
Saka outwitted 27 other players with 39 points. He was followed by James Suwedi and Nixon Makawa who had 37 and 32 points respectively.
Saka attributed his success to hard work and determination.
He said since 2011 when he started playing golf, he used to scoop second position in every tournament.
“The competition was stiff, but I managed to win this tournament because I trained hard and I am happy my dream has come true today,” he said.
Public relations officer for SRWB Macdonald Phiri described the tournament as one of the organisation’s corporate and social responsibility initiatives towards sports in the country.
“We promise to sponsor golf tournaments annually for this is one way of interacting and giving back to our customers,” he said.
