Discarded Flames goalkeeper Swadick Sanudi’s future at South African club Dynamos is uncertain due to Premier Soccer League (PSL) foreign-based players rules.
Dynamos have been relegated to South Africa’s third tier Vodacom League, whose regulations bar foreign players.
Sanudi has a year remaining on his contract and indicated last week that he will remain with the club, but the rules make him ineligible to continue playing for Dynamos in the lower league.
He could not be reached for comment.
Even if he gets a permanent residency permit, he will still not be allowed, as the rules restrict the league to locals.
Sanudi stayed for a year last season without football as he struggled for a work permit and was forced to come home when he played for Bullets before he returned to join Dynamos in February.
Meanwhile, defender Moses Chavula is optimistic about securing a job soon following the termination of his contract at Amazulu last week
“I am not bitter as it was in the best interest of both parties. My agent is currently in Europe looking at potential offers, but there are also queries from other South African clubs. I know my abilities and believe it will be just a matter of time before I sign for a new team,” said Chavula.
He joined Amazulu last August, but struggled for game time in the second round where he played only three of the team’s 17 games.
