Silver Strikers and Big Bullets have announced that they have cut ties with Nsejjere Sports and Casual Wear.

Silver Striker chairperson MacDonald Mafuta-Mwale told Weekend Nation on Thursday that they will not have anything to do with the US-based sports and casual wear firm next season.

Bullets_celebrate“We are done with Nsejjere. We will not renew any contractual talks with them. We worked with them and learnt some lessons and we thought it is time to move on,” said Mafuta-Mwale whose club was the first to use Nsejjere products in the country.

Mafuta-Mwale said instead the club has entered into a pact with their sponsors, Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM), in which the bank will use the club as its ambassadors.

In an earlier interview, Big Bullets general secretary Harold Fote said they have been approached by another sportswear firm which is interested in supplying replica jerseys and other sports attire to the club.

He said they have been reluctant to commit themselves to another Nsejjere contract because they had issues with the earlier contract.

“I cannot say much, but we need to work with a company from which as a club can benefit from. We had problems with the contract our predecessors signed with Nsejjere. Unless there is complete change of contract then maybe we can work out something,” said Fote.

Nsejjere country representative Jacob Chikoya could not be reached for comment as he is reportedly out of the country.
