Push comes to shove. Silver Strikers have said their coaching panel seems to have terribly lost the plot and club chairperson McDonald Mafuta-Mwale said they would make some changes.

Amid all the drama at the weekend, when a storm hit the Bankers’ ship and sent it plunging into turbulent waters, it was easy to feel sorry for Franco Ndawa and his backroom staff as the fans turned on the heat following their 0-1 loss to Blue Eagles in a TNM Super League derby on Saturday.

As the Bankers staggered in the mist of disappointment, the fans became emotional and turned hostile as they bayed for the coaches’ and players’ blood at the dressing room.

Mafuta-Mwale also said the club’s patience had now worn thin.

“We gave the coaching panel the benefit of the doubt to improve the situation, but it seems we are getting nowhere.

“They [coaches] are blaming some players for lack of commitment, but then if that is the case, then they should have turned to other players since we have a deep squad.

“It is evident that they have run out of ideas and they are failing to make bold decisions. Anyway, we have called them for a meeting later today [yesterday] where we’ll make a final decision,” said Mafuta-Mwale.

Ndawa could not be reached for his comment.

In the past nine matches, the Bankers have only won twice. Heads Silver’s coaching panel.
