Silver wants Sulom workshop shifted

TNM Super League defending champions Silver Strikers have asked the Super League of Malawi (Sulom) to postpone a clubs’ workshop it wants to host at Chiwembe Technical Centre this Monday.

Silver general secretary Mike Tembo said the meeting was crucial to the clubs, yet some might miss it as they have engagements.

“It is my opinion, that we shift the dates to probably end of first-round so that such meetings can be done at the break of the first-round,” Tembo suggested.

“My second point would be a suggestion to also have the financial report of Sulom, so that as we discuss the same for the clubs, we can learn from that page. I believe as affiliates we help raise the money for Sulom and are also liable to information as to how the body is fairing financially.”

Tembo also wants Sulom to meet the delegates’ expenses such as transport, meals and accommodation.

Sulom wants each club to send three officials from the main executive committee.

In a letter circulated to all 15 teams, Sulom general secretary Williams Banda says the agenda of the meeting includes event management, players’ transfers, club constitution, rules and regulations, football marketing and type of clubs.

“In view of the above, we request your attendance as well as other area of importance for inclusion to the final programme before close of business tomorrow [yesterday],” writes Banda.
