The Southern Region Basketball League (Sozobal) has named a 16-member squad that will travel to Lilongwe for the All Star Games sponsored by G.Y. Exports and Imports.

The games start on Saturday at the African Bible College (ABC) court.

According to Sozobal chairperson Hamlet Kamtengeni, selection was based on performance.

“The response during training has been positive. But the drawback is that most of our senior players have commitments this week and this will really affect our performance. We know Central Region Basketball League [Cezobal] are defending the trophy, but they should expect a strong challenge,” said Kamtengeni in a telephone interview from Blantyre.

The Sozobal squad comprises Moses Mzumara from Poly Bobcats, Mike Chimombo from Crazy Warriors and Henry Mbale from Magang’a. The list of shooting guards are Bentley Chimaliro from Poly Bobcats, Emmanuel Lembi of Magang’a, Maxwell Selemani (Chanco Hawks) Blessings Kaho and Diverson Munthali (Cobbe Barracks).
