Stars coach banks on Chiukepo

Chiukepo Msowoya’s recent loan move to South African side Platinum Stars could signal a change of fortunes if coach Owen Da Gama’s remarks are anything to go by.

The coach of relegation-threatened Stars hopes the arrival of Msowoya, fellow striker Patrick Malokase and defender Lucas Thwala from Orlando Pirates could help turn the corner.

“Msowoya and Tshepo also have what it takes to make the difference in my team. I will use Malokase behind the strikers as a playmaker of the team because he is an excellent passer of the ball,” Da Gama told www.supersport on Friday.

Stars, 13th on the log table, reinforced their squad by signing defender Tshepo Moloto from Jomo Cosmos during the January transfer window.

“I am impressed by what I have seen in all the new players that we signed,” Da Gama added.

Malawian midfielder Robert Ng’ambi last week hoped Chiukepo would recapture his scoring touch he lost at Pirates.

Msowoya hardly played or made the bench at Pirates with whom he has a contract.

He scored three goals for the Buccaneers since his arrival from Rwandan team, APR in 2010.
