Inspector General of Malawi Police Service Lot Dzonzi has asked students of Daughters of Mary Immaculate (DMI) – St. John the Baptist University to strive for excellence.

Dzonzi was speaking in the lakeshore district of Mangochi on Tuesday during the launch of the university’s Information and Communication Engineering Technology Club.

He said institutions of higher learning such as the DMI –St. John the Baptist are supposed to be fertile ground for breeding young professionals who could take the country to greater heights.

Dzonzi challenged the students to live a dream, an acronym he used in explaining how to surmount challenges.

“I am using the acronym of Dream which should be translated as follows; desire for success, reject failure, expect to meet challenges in life, ask for wisdom and finally make it happen.

“The road to success usually has stumbling blocks, but if one remained focused on what they want to achieve, success always beckons,” he said.

DMI was established in 2010  and has more than 300 students pursuing bachelor’s degrees in business administration, commerce, software engineering and computer science.
