Sukez inspires Blantyre youths

Multi-award-winning video director-cum-producer Sukez, real name Gift Sukali, on Saturday at Blantyre Hub inspired young people to develop a business mindset to achieve their aspirations.

The inspirational talk, held under a programme called Upgrade Yourself, was organised by Blantyre Hub to motivate youths who are in business and other ventures.

Sukez: I am thinking of venturing
into film industry

In an interview, Sukez, who owns HD Plus Creations, said many youths in the country have potential of doing business but what they need is direction and they don’t know how to use their money wisely.

“Others have graduated in various colleges but they are failing to utilise skills they acquired. As such, I shared with them how I ventured into entrepreneurship, my journey to becoming an award-winning video director and how I put aside my degree to start a business.

“In life, there are a lot of ups and downs which one goes through to reach his or her potential and the story is similar to me.  To reach the extent where I am now, I met a lot of challenges, but I always believe that if you have ambition you end up reaching it,” he said.

Speaking of his plans for the year, Sukez said, motivated by Malawian-inspired Hollywood movie The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind and how much fame it would have brought the country if it were also shot by a Malawian, he is thinking of venturing into the film industry.

The youth who attended the event were also inspired by other motivators such as Chimwemwe Manyozo, Charles Lipenga, Tendai Banda, Tendai Munemo and Ulala Kondowe.

Speaking in an interview, Manyozo, who was also one of the organisers, said they held the talk after observing that many youths in the country have the ability to progress in terms of entrepreneurship but their weak side is lack of direction.
