The Super League of Malawi (Sulom) has said its long-awaited annual general meeting (AGM) will be held on October 14 in Lilongwe.

Sulom president Innocent Bottomani confirmed the development, saying it is important that they hold an AGM before the start of the second round.

“We promised our affiliates that we would hold the general assembly during the first round recess. The executive committee has, therefore, decided that it should be held on October 14 at Sunbird Lilongwe,” said Bottomani.

He also said the league is drafting the agenda for the AGM.

“The general secretary [Williams Banda] is working on that, but obviously it should include reports from the president, GS, treasurer and matters arising,” said Bottomani.

Big Bullets general secretary Higger Mkandawire and Silver Strikers chairperson Dr. McDonald Mafuta-Mwale hailed Sulom for living up to its promise to call for an AGM.

Said Mkandawire: “There are a number of issues that need to be addressed by the AGM, such as gate collection shares, among others.”
