On arrival, each lady was offered a glass of cocktail, non alcoholic or alcoholic depending on one’s needs as well as fresh red roses. It was simply a romantic adventure for many.

In the inviting Bwaila Room, the ladies were greeted with beautifully and neatly set up tables and chairs that left scores awestruck as they could be heard in turns screaming, “wow”.

The night progressed with presentations from different corporate entities as well as organisations such as Malawi Savings Bank (MSB), NBS Bank, Competition and Fair Trading Commission and Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (Luanar), among others, before the guests were treated to dinner.

After a sumptuous three course meal that left even those on slimming diet drooling for more, it was time for the ladies to unwind and have unlimited fun as they engaged in different fun activities like Karaoke and dancing competition.

About six ladies took turns to shake their booties, gyrate and tweak as if their lives depended on that. Some dance routines were plainly indescribable as they were obscene or too erotic. But it was fun for both parting in the forbidden dance and the spectators. They all won white wine bottles after the patronage failed to adjudicate clear winners from a dance off.

Fashion and women always go together. And latest fashion trends have not taken the better of Malawians only but the corporate world as well.

Women continue to be spotted donning African prints either in form of dresses, shorts, jumpsuits, jackets and even swim wear.

Sunbird Tourism Limited once again became the first corporate entity to fully embrace these changes by organising a ladies night with a fashion parade as one of its activities.

This is a major shift from the ordinary ladies night that Sunbird hotels are famed for.

Designer Constance Kankhulungo dazzled the audience with her nail biting creations. The models also did justice to the designs as graciously walked on the ramp to the appreciation of the ladies.

Before the dance floor fully opened, different women walked away with prizes such as dinner for two, accommodation at a Sunbird hotel of their choice, among others in a raffle draw.

“The ladies night dinner and dance offered an opportunity to build better corporate ladies as this is a forum to raise their profile. As always, this night provides an opportunity for women to network, trade ideas, learn a few things and have fun with fellow women while enjoying a fine meal. Besides, this is a special treat for the ladies after hard work,” said Titania Katenga Kaunda, Sunbird Tourism Limited group sales manager.

Esnath Mtupila, one of the ladies who attended the event, said: “This is a perfect way to relax, make friends and explore business opportunities”.
