The first round of the TNM Super League came to an end yesterday with the last match involving Civo United and Fisd Wizards at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.

Wizards, who anchor the 15-team league with eight points, were unlucky to be held to a goalless draw after turning on a vintage display which mesmerised the fans from start to finish.surestream_cobbe

This was the third successive draw for the rookies, who the previous day held Kamuzu Barracks to another barren draw after yet another classic performance. They also held Silver Strikers to a one-all draw the previous weekend.

Civo have finished on 10th position with 16 points.

Wizards technical director Peter Mponda, who doubles as coach, described it as a good game: “I think there has been an improvement towards the end of the first round. Our biggest challenge is finishing and we are planning to beef up the striking force.”
