Joseph Suwedi and James Shonga emerged winners of Soroptimist International Blantyre Club (Sibc) charity golf tournament at Blantyre Sports Club (BSC) on Friday.
The tournament was organised to raise funds to support Seyama Girls School located in Chigumula Township and women prisoners at Chichiri Prison in Blantyre.
Suwedi and Shonga who were sponsored by Protea Hotels, registered 45 points, two points clear of beating Small Holder Fertiliser Revolving Fund team which featured Carol Banda and Margreat Nkwanda while Chisapi School’s Iganatious Kambale and Clement Hau finished third on 42 points.
Suwedi said they felt happy to win a tournament that was organised for a noble cause.

In subsidiary prizes, Annes Araujo had the longest drive on hole number eight (combined) while Suwedi was nearest to the pin on hole number five.
The winners received trophies and other assorted prizes.
