Tanzania boosted by three professionals’ arrival

The arrival of three professionals has boosted Tanzania’s Taifa Stars ahead of this afternoon’s 2018 Fifa World Cup preliminary qualifier against the Flames.

Taifa will play host to the Flames at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam and the winner will face Algeria in the next round of continental qualifiers.Tanzania

Winger Mrisho Ngassa, who plies his trade for Free State Stars in South Africa, was the first to arrive last weekend followed on Monday by Congo DR-based striking duo of Mbwana Samatta and Thomas Ulimwengu who play for TP Mazembe.

Samatta is now considered as Tanzania’s trump card. He is enjoying a rich vein of form at his club.

Meanwhile, Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Somali referees to take charge of the game. The officials are Hagi Yabarow Wiish, who will be central referee and his assistants, Hamza Hagi Abdi and Salah Omar Abubakar. Fourth official is Bashir Olad Arab.

The referee’s assessor is Sam Essam Islam from Egypt while match commissioner is Zimbabwean Muzambi Gladmore.
