Just when artists are bemoaning little support from the private sector, Major Prophet Shepherd Bushiri of the of Enlightened Christian Gathering Church (ECGC) has donated K4 million (US$9 732.4) to three upcoming gospel artists: James Piringu, Temwanani Mpherembe and David Essengo Modecai.

Bushiri said he has made the gesture because he loves people with talents as such their creativity compelled him to offer help.

“This money is intended to help them pay costs for their albums and I will also help them have best album launches.”

Manager of the three artists, Kelvin Sulugwe confirmed the development, saying he is very happy for the gesture.

“Good things don’t come easily and I can’t hide my happiness and gratitude for this kind gesture that the man of God has showed to the music industry. This is something that others should imitate as it is the best way to promote and uplift local talent,” said Sulugwe.

He said Piringu’s debut album is almost done and and it will be first to be released of the three and is due September.

“These guys are amazing and they are the best worshippers Malawi should look forward to. We are almost through with James album and promotional songs will be out as soon as he finishes studio work,” said Sulugwe

Each of the three artists will release two videos first and will be shot by HD Plus Creations

Prophet Shepherd Bushiri has also helped other gospel artists including Onesimus Kalua (formerly Armstrong) who is in South Africa.
