Rab Processors Group of Companies has increased ThumbsUp Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) League Premier Division sponsorship from K15.5 million to K19 million per season.

The group’s communication manager Andrew Lulker disclosed this in Blantyre yesterday when renewing the new three-year sponsorship contract with the SRFA.

He said a big chunk of the financial package will go towards prizes as starting from the 2023 season, the champions will get K5 million instead of the previous K3 million.

Runners-up are expected to receive K3 million while third-placed and fourth-positioned teams will get K2 million and K1 million, respectively.

“This increase comes in appreciation of the good conduct of both players and officials during the last three-year contract. We are proud to be associated with this league,” said Lulker.

SRFA chairperson Raphael Humba said they are happy that the sponsors have trusted them again to improve the sponsorship.

“We are grateful to Rab Group for trusting us to keep promoting their brand through this sponsorship,” he said.

Football Association of Malawi commercial director Limbani Matola urged other companies to partner fpotball through sponsorships if they are to efficiently and rapidly promote their products.

However, they were not promoted to the TNM Super League as per rules of the game, which does not allow two teams from one entity to get into the elite league. Bullets already have their main teams in the Super League.

Instead, their runners-up Bangwe All Stars will take the slot.
