Barely three days after organising a successful entertainment event, Mzuzu-based entertainment firm Top City has rolled out plans to organise a Miss Mzuzu concert from the proceeds generated during the music show.

Top City, which is managed by Paul Nyirenda, Augustine Chulunga and Mackson Jere, said the event will be self funded.

The event will crown Miss Mzuzu whom the firm wants to be used as a model to champion charitable activities the outfit is set to be involved in soon.

“The support we realised from our first event was overwhelming, we were able to recover what we invested and also generated a little more. That alone means a lot to us. That is why we have decided to give back to the community by organising Miss Mzuzu. We can assure you that Top City will fund the entire operational costs for the occasion,” said Jere.

Jere said it is high time Mzuzu replaced incumbent Ivy Njati who was crowned in 2011.

According to Jere, the event will target college students and school leavers who are eager to participate in charitable activities.

“Our aim is to choose a responsible Miss Mzuzu who can commit herself as an ambassador for various charitable events that our firm will be involved in,” he said.
