Two Congolese nationals arrested for using fake documents
Immigration officers at Mwanza border on Wednesday intercepted and arrested two Congolese nationals Lwahano Mulagalala, 29 and Kazungu Mulagalala, 23, for using fake Malawian Emergency Travel documents.
The two were on a Marsmerry bus registration number KMZ 89 ZN which operates between Blantyre-Johanesburg route.
Speaking in an interview Wednesday, Mwanza border immigration spokesperson Pasqually Zulu said the two were using Malawian names.
“One was using the name Lyford Makiyi from Konzalendo Village in the area of (T/A) Nsabwe in Thyolo while the other was using the name Adam Kamwana from Chitedze Village T/A Nsundwe in Lilongwe,” said Zulu.
He added that the two have been detained at Mwanza Prison pending investigationon the reasons behind coming to Malawi “and also uncover the syndicate behind the production of fake Emergency Travel Documents.
