Piksy’s fans will have to wait a little longer for his second album Nthunzi as the release date has been delayed until October.

The Afro rapper/singer initially hoped to release the new album by July end, but his trip to the United Kingdom, where he is billed to perform has affected the release date.

“Unfortunately we cannot manage to release the album in July. We had relaxed knowing that in July, Piksy would be away,” the artist’s manager Promise Matatiyo told On the Arts.

Piksy was scheduled to leave for Birmingham at the end of this month alongside gospel musicians Mlaka Maliro and Ethel Kamwendo-Banda for their scheduled performances at the Malawi Golden Jubilee Celebrations on July 6.

But according to Matatiyo, the gig has been postponed to September 13, meaning the three musicians will leave Malawi for the UK at the end of August or the first week of September.

“The change has forced us to push the album release to October, probably the first or last week of that month,” said Piksy’s manager.

In an earlier interview, Piksy had indicated that his second album dwelt on maturity and features renowned local artists such as Lulu, Third Eye, Wendy Harawa and Peter Sambo.

The artist has so far released two promotion singles off the album titled Tsoka Liyenda and Maloto.
