“She is a very popular artist who we believe will give Malawians fans, who are starving of international performances, much enjoyment. We are yet to agree on the date for her performances, but everything concerning her trip is done,” said Wakawaka Hotel general manager Gabriel Nizeyimana.

Slizer made her name with her album O Tswaka Kaye which has a popular track Ke Jola le Rasta, which is a favourite for many local DJs in the country.

“Fans will not be disappointed as her music videos and some of her tracks are very popular here. It’s going to be one of those great shows. She is a great stage performer,” said Nizeyimana.

Also on the menu at Wakawaka Hotel for this year is Tanzanian music great, Diamond Platnumz who will perform in September.

Earlier this year, Diamond Platinumz performed alongside American hip pop act T-Pain at the 2015 edition of Step Up in Tanzania.

“Diamond has done some great collaboration with Nigerian artists such as Davido. He is a popular artist who has shaken Africa with his music. We want Malawians to have a feel of his live performance. We have arranged this show for September but again we are yet to agree on the right date as he has shows lined up. He is definitely coming,” said Nizeyimana.

In the past, Wakawaka Hotel have brought in the country tops artist such as South African DJ Oskido, Big Nuz and a couple of artists from Nigeria.
