Chiukepo spent a week on trials at Wits in Johannesburg last week, but his agent Martin Sekati yesterday said he was yet to get feedback from coach Gavin Hunt on the outcome of the trials.
However, Hunt was desperate to sign a “ruthless finisher” ahead of the new season which kicks off Saturday and the signing of Nyundu could dent Chiukepo’s chances of being taken on board. Nyundu scored 19 goals in 20 matches while on loan at Black Leopards last season
“I have not heard from Gavin nor anyone from Wits on Chiukepo’s trials, but I will be meeting them tomorrow [today],” said Sekati.
However, he reiterated his disappointment of Bullets’ conduct during the trials, saying: “How could they be calling Wits and mention figures in the midst of the players trials? That was very unprofessional to say the least.”
