Mighty Be Forward Wanderers flamboyant fan Yona Malunga has said he has made peace with the team’s current leadership and still has great passion for the Nomads although he is not frequently patronising their games.

The former Nomads main supporters’ committee chairperson was responding to a question on why he has not been seen at matches since the season started four weeks ago.

“The reason why I am not patronising games frequently is because I am busy running my personal business which needs my attention.

“I am very much around and I am now in good books with my team’s current leadership. I had no personal grudges against anyone at Wanderers. My only interest was to see the club doing well in its endeavours and I am happy that the team is doing well,” said Malunga.

He added: “However, I want to assure the Nomads family, including my successor [Dinesi Chitsulo] that I am with them and I will be back with them at the stands. I miss the moments of shaking my belly in the terraces.”

Malunga also said with the strong side that the Nomads have assembled, he has no doubt that they will clinch at least two silverware this season.

“Wanderers are now a star-studded side which can only be compared to the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Real Madrid in terms of depth in quality,” said Malunga.

Having served as supporters chairperson for over five years, Malunga did not seek re-election last year after fallout with the George Chamangwana-led executive committee.
