Blantyre City Presbytery of Church of Central Africa Presbytery (CCAP) inducted Reverend Roy Zingani as moderator of Chilumba CCAP last Sunday during a colourful ceremony held at the church’s premises in Bangwe Township, Blantyre.

In his sermon dubbed ‘God loves us’ derived from books of Ezekiel 2 and 3, Luke 5 and Romans 9, Blantyre City Presbytery moderator Masauko Mbolembole asked Zingani to deliver what God has installed in him for Chilumba.

“God told Ezekiel to deliver the message of lament, mourn and woe. It should not depend on the nature of the message, anything that God wants Chilumba to hear, let it be delivered. God prepares His servants for the war, you will meet people of different backgrounds, just serve God and His people,” said Mbolembole.

Reverend Peter Kandulu reminded Zingani to evaluate and discipline his flock based on scriptures found in Luke 9:18-22.

“Know the people you are working with. If they do not understand you, do not be annoyed because it started with Jesus Christ. Many people did not know who He was, but He helped and worked with everyone. Let people see Jesus Christ in your works. Do not favour anyone, rich or in need, pass judgment according to God’s will,” he said.

Parish coordinator of Blantyre City Presbytery Reverend Davies Moyo urged Chilumba congregation to assist Zingani materially and spiritually, something which the church’s session clerk Esnart Maseko assured would be done.

Zingani, who has come from Chitakale in Mulanje Presbytery, has replaced Reverend William Mawindo who is now at Bilila in Ntcheu Presbytery.
