Head of the Mzuzu Diocese of the Catholic Church Bishop Joseph Zuza on Christmas Day gave his kinsfolk and former schoolmates a special treat when he celebrated holy mass at Mhlafuta Catholic Church in Mzimba.

Zuza is an alumnus of Mhlafuta Primary School in Malembo Village in the area of Mlumuzana Kapopo Mhlanga in the district.

His visit for Christmas festivities united Catholics and believers of other faiths who flocked to Mhlafuta to join their kinsman in glorifying God for the gift of Jesus Christ.

In his sermon, Zuza reminded the believers about the need to thank God for the gift of life and salvation through Jesus.

“Regardless of our differences in religious affiliations, we are all one in Jesus Christ. Therefore, we need to work in partnership in spreading his gospel of love for all mankind,” he said.

One of the Catholics who attended the service Paul Zimba said the holy mass the bishop graced helped Christians rejuvenate their faith.

“I am very privileged to be here this morning. We rarely have holy masses here because we live far from our parish [St Theresa Katete Parish],” said Zimba.
