Capital Glass and Hazards lead the first round of the K300 000 Centurion Guest House darts tournament of the Lilongwe and Districts Darts League (LDDL). The opening round ended on August 9 2014.

Group A has Capital Glass leading after winning all their games, seconded by Combat Support Batallion who lost the first game against Capital Glass. Group B has Hazards as leaders trailed by Kamuzu Barracks Snippers.

LDDL general secretary James Sangala (not the footballer) has since hailed Centurion owner Amos Tizola for hiking sponsorship from K250 000.

“We are thankful to Centurion Guest House management for this sponsorship. We appeal to other stakeholders to emulate this noble example in sponsoring darts because as a league, we have lined up a number of activities to promote darts, among them is the Premiership League,” Sangala said in a statement.

On another note, the LDDL Deakay league first-round ended also on August 9 2014 and Hazards, boasting of players such as Mike Mazengela and Overton Mbale, are at the summit of the table with 15 points. Capital Glass are second on 12 points and are led by key players such as James Mbando and Joe Zangazanga.

“The league started on May 3 2014. We expect more fireworks,” Sangala explained.
