The UK-based writer and founder of the Powerhouse Community Outreach International Ministry Pastor Dr Clement Nkhoma is scheduled to launch 10 spiritual books on 12 October 2013. Dr. Nkhoma says he wrote all these books at once after fasting for 21 days. Excerpts:

Briefly, can you describe how you define yourself.

I am a man who is always passionate about knowledge and learning new things, especially those that have a direct impact on my spiritual life. I always believe that Christianity could be effective if it is properly understood.

And this is in line with Hosea 4:6, which says and I quote: “My people will certainly be silenced, because there is no knowledge.”

Is it the search for knowledge that drove you to write 10 books at once?

When I was in the United Kingdom (UK), I practically had no church where to go for services. So, I bought 64 books by Kenneth Hagin and 40 others by David Oyedepo, which I used to read to edify and nourish my spiritual life.

While reading these books, God started to inspire me to write my own to bring in new revelation in the spiritual realm. The inspiration came as a line of thoughts, which would take three to four weeks to mature. Then, I would go to a quiet place where I started putting on paper whatever God led me to write.

But couldn’t you publish these books in phases? Why did you have to publish all the 10 books at once?

In fact, I have so far written 84 books and some of them are still in their raw forms. You see, when you are being led by the spirit, you just have to do what he tells you to do.

And do you what is funny about it? You have found me working on another book on perseverance and patience. So that’s how God works when he wants to use you. And if I were to publish these books one by one, how many ages would it take me to finish them?

Specifically, what do you intend to achieve with these books?

I will draw your attention to Ecclesiastes 10:10, which emphasises and I quote: “If an axe is blunt and the edge isn’t sharpened, then one has to use more strength.”

I believe that the Church has been stagnant on what we know about Christian lifestyle. This is because there has been too much recycling of information on Christianity.

As such, there is need for new revelation to bring the church to the new level of Christianity. The books I have authored aim at stimulating revival among believers, which is very necessary for our spiritual growth.

Who are your target readers?

The books have been written in such a way that believer can read them, including children. I want every person, including those that don’t necessarily believe in the existence of God, to read these books or some of them.

By the way, which church were you before founding Powerhouse International Ministries?

I was a member of the Living Waters Church (LWC) and Apostle Stanley Ndovie is the one who led me and my brother to God in 1986 in Nkolokosa, Blantyre. I was ordained a pastor by Prophet Blessings Chapo in Bolton in England.

I remained a member of LWC until 2004 when I had a conviction that I should found this ministry. However, I am still attending LWC services because our ministry is not established in Malawi.
