Minibus plunges into stream in Lilongwe
A minibus, registration number NU 8603, yesterday plunged into a tributary that runs parallel to Riverside Hotel and pours into Lingadzi River in Lilongwe.
Eyewitnesses told The Nation that the incident happened at around 9am as the minibus tried to avoid bumping into another vehicle that was coming from Area 15 and which unexpectedly joined Paul Kagame Road. The eyewitnesses said no one died from the accident, but several people in the minibus sustained serious multiple injuries and were taken to Kamuzu Central Hospital for treatment.
nThe small river is called “Nankhaka”. It starts from Area 47 Sector 2, Chigoneka. The reporter should have asked the local people for the name. Be accurate.
