If I were: Peter Mutharika and Saulos Chilima
Presidents of Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and UTM Party, respectively, I would realise that we missed an opportunity to send a strong message that we are for peace when we did not attend the Public Affairs Committee (PAC)-organised prayers in Lilongwe.
No matter how crammed our diaries were, I certainly would have prioritised the prayers, considering the current tense situation.
If I were APM and SKC, I would realise that our absence can be construed as lacking seriousness in our efforts to restore peace.
Oh yes, our presence at the event would have also sent a strong message to our supporters that we are committed to ensuring that there is peace in the country.
If I were Adadi and my immediate past vice-president, I would admit that whatever the case, this was a missed opportunity.
That is if I were APM and SKC, but I am not them.
