Chadzala, Nankhuni win Sunbird Ball Pool

Mphatso Chadzala and Mirriam Nankhuni won the Sunbird Ball Pool on Wednesday at Lilongwe Golf Club.

Chadzala, who had 23 points, carried the day in the men’s category whereas Nankhuni triumphed in the ladies section with 21 points. Nankhuni was also nearest to the pin.

Following their victories, both Chadzala and Nankhuni will each have a night for two at Sunbird Waterfront in Senga Bay, Salima on full board.

Individually, they also received K70 000 plus a trophy.

William Nuka Junior was runner-up while Kingsley Gwaza finished third in the men’s category.

On the other hand, Everesi Kachitamanja came second in women’s category and also had the longest drive while Sarah Chaudhry was third.

Lilongwe Golf Club captain Mac Nyanda was nearest to the pin in men’s category while Arthur Chirwa had the longest drive.

In her victory speech, Nankhuni said she was thrilled to win. 

“It’s very exciting and overwhelming for me. It is the first time to be top since I started playing golf two years ago.

“I have been finishing third and nearest to the pin, but never won

the championship. I am very happy,” she said

Sunbird Tourism plc chief executive officer Samson Mwale said the Ball Pool was a good platform for interaction.

“Through this interaction we get a lot of feedback, a lot of encouragement and a lot business as well. We really appreciate. With the kind of support you give we are ready anytime you call us,” he said
