Salima, Babatunde tied as leading goal scorers
FCB Nyasa Bullets attacker Chikumbutso Salima has caught up with team-mate
Babatunde Adepoju as TNM Super League leading scorers following his hat-trick in Sunday’s 4-3 victory over Civil Service United at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.

The two are now tied on 12 goals apiece. Zeliat Nkhoma of Kamuzu Barracks FC closely follows with 11 goals.
On Sunday, Salima’s hat-trick was key in his team’s rise to the summit of the 16-team log-table after dislodging their arch-rivals Mighty Wanderers.
The People’s Team have 53 points from 23 games, a point ahead of the Nomads, who have dropped to second position, but with a game in hand.
Interestingly, Salima is also among the three players that produced the league’s first hat-tricks of the season in the 26th week. Others are Chikaiko Batson of Civil and Luke Chima of Goshen City Dedza Dynamos.
Salima said the feat is a huge motivation for him as he strives to help Bullets defend the title.
“This is a great motivation for me because it is not easy to score a hat-trick in such a difficult game. I will work harder to score more and help my team win the league” he said.
Last season, Wanderers attacker Isaac ‘Tcheya’ Kaliati won the Golden Boot with 17 goals and Salima believes it is possible for him to reach the mark in the remaining seven games for Bullets.
For the past 25 seasons, former Bullets striker Ganizani ‘M’bobo’ Malunga has been the record holder of most goals scored in the Super League, having notched 28 goals in the 2002/03 season.
