But in an interview yesterday, Masters FC chief executive officer Kevin Moyo said: “He is in Lilongwe, but we are waiting for formalities. Until that is done, we cannot confirm the deal.”

Muyaba last played competitive football last season at ambitious Zimbabwean side Scotland FC where he scored a single goal before being released at the end of the season.

A fortnight ago, the striker linked himself with the Masters FC when he posted coach Peter Mponda’s photograph on his Facebook page with the words: “See you boss, tigwire ntchito.”

The 32-year-old forward won the domestic top-flight league golden boot in 2019 with 21 goals before moving to South African second-tier league side Polokwane City.

He later on joined Syrian club Tishreen in 2023 before moving on for a short stint with a South African top-flight league side Richards Bay.

In 2024, he had a stint with Jordan side Malan before moving to another South African second-tier league side Venda FC from where he joined Scotland FC.
