“For your tireless devotion, early mornings, late nights, quiet sacrifices, and unceasing prayers for your families, your love is truly matchless and paramount,” the President said in a statement issued by State House Press Office.

The Malawi leader added that his administration remains firmly committed to empowering women and safeguarding the health, dignity and economic prosperity of every mother in the country.

He said the government is striving to remove systemic barriers and build a Malawi where every woman can thrive.

The President said efforts included targeted national investments in maternal health services, economic empowerment initiatives and expanded educational opportunities for girls.

“Today, we honour and celebrate every woman in Malawi. Your resilience, selflessness, and dedication continue to shape the heart and future of our nation,” said Mutharika.

Vice-President Jane Ansah also joined the President in extending warm Mother’s Day wishes to all mothers, guardians and caretakers across the nation.

“Motherhood is a precious blessing guided by God’s grace, and we celebrate the unconditional love, sacrifices, prayers and dedication through which mothers nurture families and shape the future of our nation,” she said in a statement.

Apart from the two, UTM leader Dalitso Kabambe also posted on his Facebook page, wishing all mothers a happy Mother’s Day.

Malawi commemorates Mother’s Day on October 15, dedicating it as a day to honour mothers and the influence of motherhood in society.
