Malawi promoters are bringing into the country renowned Uganda’s star Dr Jose Chameleon, Zambia’s General Kanene and Tanzania’s African Stars.

Lin International managing director Janvier Ngoga said in an interview he visited the trio in their countries to seal the deal which will see them touring the country in the next two months.

First to perform will be General Kanene and his Perfecto compatriot B1, who will hold three shows in Lilongwe—Mungo Park next Friday, Portuguese Club on Saturday and Tilipano on Sunday.

Later, Chameleon will hold his first show in the country at Mungo Park on October 26 and the following night at French Cultural Centre in Blantyre. Negotiations are underway to book a place for his show at either Silver or Civo stadiums on October 28, said Ngoga.

For rhumba fanatics, Linc International is flirting with African Stars Band, the 70-member group dubbed “Twangapepe” in Swahili speaking countries. They will hold open-air shows in Lilongwe and Blantyre in November.

“General Kanene has already been in Malawi, but since then his music has taken an upward turn and he is a force on the continent. As for Dr Chameleon, he has performed not only in Africa but also Europe and North America. It’s time Malawians had a feel of his music,” said Ngoga.

Kanene (born Clifford Dimba) has just released two albums.  Mwayi wa Galu and Half Chicken.
