Airtel Money netball set for regional finals
Tomorrow will be a big day in the Airtel Money Netball Championships as 75 teams are geared to battle for national finals slots.
At least 19 outfits will take it to the netball courts in the South while 16 teams will clash in the Eastern Region. In the Centre and North, the onus will be on 22 teams and 18 teams, respectively, to bookplaces in the ultimate finals.
“It will be a busy and exciting weekend for netball lovers in the country. People should come in their large numbers to witness games in this crucial stage,” said Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) general secretary Carol Bapu.
Over 600 teams registered for this year’s competition.
Complex Tigresses emerged inaugural national champions following their victory over their rivals Diamonds at Blantyre Youth Centre (BYC).
Airtel Malawi started sponsoring the competition in 2013 with a landmark K360 million package that caters for the Malawi Queens and the domestic netball championships.
