The signs are there for all to see. According to St. Matthew Anglican Church, these are signs of the beginning of the end of the world. In response, the Church has organised a three days revival crusade to prepare people for the second coming of Jesus Christ.

Harrison Longwe, who is the church warden, says the revival would be held at Canon Paslow Hall at Chichiri Parish, situated along Chipembere Highway, next to NACIT.

Longwe, who is also a member of the church’s evangelism committee, said the revival meetings would start on Friday, September 21, 2012 from 5pm to 9pm. On Saturday and Sunday they would takes place from 1pm to 5pm.

He said four powerful men of God— Fr Alinafe Kalemba of the Anglican Church, Pastor Mbepula, Pastor Banda, and the host Rev Fr Makweya Chanza, are prepared to share the word of God. Inspiring Gospel artists Limbani Simenti, Ndirande Anglican Melodies, Kachere CCAP singers, and Chichiri Anglican Angels will collectively lift up spirits through music.

Said Longwe: “The activities of the recent past and present are fulfilling the prophecy of the coming of our King and the end of the world. Horrific stories of wars, and people eating and selling human parts, which were thought to be of distant countries, are now usual stories in our country.”

“These are signs of the beginning of the end. To understand the happenings of this day, and be able to be fully prepared for more things to come, one has to know God. It is for this reason that we have organised this revival meeting,” he said.

He said at the end of the three days, held under the theme ‘Know your God and Do Exploits’, derived from Daniel 11:32, people are expected to have full knowledge of God and would have deepened their relationship with the Creator.

“This is what the Lord Jesus promised in the New Testament: that those who will believe in Him will do greater works than He did, and they will be able to fight the strong forces of evil in this world,” he said.

Longwe said all Christians and non Christians, regardless of age, should come to the multi-denominational revival meeting. He further said that transport on Friday evening will be available.
