MYFUNDACTION EMBARKS ON QUR’AN DISTRIBUTION PROGRAMS ACROSS MALAWI

MyFundAction Malawi, a muslim charitable organisation aimed at uplifting the welfare of the needy and impowering the youth through education and capacity building, rolled out a stretch of Qur’an distribution drive in various communities across Malawi under the theme Waqaf Al-Quran Program for Africa run by the parent MyFundAction in collaboration with Alnnur Quranic Centre.

Speaking during the launch of the project on 17th July 2021 at Hunain Madrassah in area 24 township in LiLongwe, the country director of MyFundAction Malawi, Sheikh Qullab Tenson Jim, emphasized on the need for communities to come together and invest in the religious education and spiritual strength of the young generation if we are to secure a God fearing nation of tomorrow.

“The kids we are raising today, these youngsters roaming around, no matter how adorable and cute they are, they won’t remain kids forever, they will grow to become adults and leaders of tomorrow, they will build a nation of tomorrow”, He sad.

” As much as we strive to invest in secular education by sending these kids to school, some attending very expensive schools for that matter, all with the sole aim of sucuring good jobs and living soft lives in the future, it is fundamentally important to invest the same amount of resources and attention in promoting religious education and God-Fearing culture in our young generation.

This will ensure that we have a nation of tomorrow that will be Godly and uphold the basic core-values of humanity”, Sheikh Jim continued.

Asked during his televised program on Zodiac Tv’s Sunrise Malawi of Friday the 7th of January 2021 as to why MyFundAction chose to distribute thousands of copies of the Holy Qur’an to poor muslim communities’ madrassahs, the country director responded by saying that the majority of muslim families in Malawi live in extreme poverty and it is hard for them to acquire a copy of the holy Qur’an yet they have a desire to see their children learn and understand the Qur’an and other islamic teachings.

“The Holy Qur’an is the constitution of life for a true Muslim. It iluminates one’s life and clearly states the fundamental principles people must live by in order to succeed in this life and in the hereafter. When children learn the Qur’an and understand it, they will be able to differenciate between what is wrong and what is right. Teaching the children about Islam is a collective responsibility for parents, neighbors and the community at large. These parents are too poor to support their children’s Qur’anic education by buying them copies of the Holy Quran. That is why MyfundAction made it a goal to distribute as many copies of the Quran to as many poor community madrassahs as possible” He elaborated.

So far, more than 4500 copies of the Holy Qur’an have been distributed in various madrassahs and mosques in Lilongwe, Salima, Mangochi and Chiradzulu.

MyFundAction plans to continue reach desperate madrassahs with the Quran distribution program and they have earmarked the source of funds for the same. It had set a target of distributing 1200 copies every month until the end of 2022.
This program is also stretched to colleges and universities’ students whereby Copies of the glorious Quran with English translation and commentary will be distributed.

Speaking on the plans MyFundAction has for the year 2022, its country director, Sheikh Qullab Jim pointed out that they are poised to drill more boreholes, build mosques,  build community schools, distribute relief items to needy families, facilitate capacity building programs among the youth as a way of empowering them to be independent and such other charitable projects pending availability of funds.

In conclusion, Sheikh Jim commended the good job the parent MyFundAction is doing in Malawi and called for more inclusive projects aimed at improving the welfare of the needy and poor communities in Malawi. He further called upon well to do individuals, companies, non governmental organisations and government agencies to do more in helping poor people in the country.

MyFundAction works in Malaysia, Egypt, Malawi, Nigeria, Mali, Chad, Cameroon, Gambia, Guinea Bisau, Central Africa Republic and the Middle East among others.
