Mzuzu-based record company Bima Musiq has returned to the limelight with Christmas gospel shows in the Northern Region after it went into hibernation soon after its inception last year.

The company has previously organised two shows and signed one artist. But Bima marketing manager Youz Chinkhuntha told The Nation that the company was studying the market before stamping their authority in the music industry.

“We are going at a slow pace to establish strong roots for the company so that we should sustain it. There have been a lot of companies that emerged, but failed to live on because they rushed,” said Chinkhuntha.

The company was formed to promote, expose and sponsor artists and also organise shows and events.

The Christmas shows, to be held in Mzuzu today and in Karonga tomorrow, bring together Grace Chinga, Patience Namadingo, Enoh and Lusubilo Band.

“We want to give people something to do during this festive season because in most cases there are no shows in such times here in the North,” he said.
