Bullets revive Zonda case

Big Bullets have said they will institute legal proceedings against Epac FC in the controversy surrounding defender Pilirani Zonda’s transfer.

Bullets general secretary Harold Fote said following Football Association of Malawi’s (FAM) findings that the player did not have a contract with Epac, they have sought legal advice to see if they can claim the K1 million (about $2 380) transfer fee they paid.

“It was clear from FAM’s findings that the player did not have a contract and that he should be treated as a free agent. We want Epac to refund us the money, failing which we shall institute legal proceedings because they duped us,” said Fote.

He also said they were suspicious that a player of Zonda’s calibre, could have gone at K1 million compared to Mussa Manyenje whom they bought at double as much from the same club.

Epac’s administration manager Roy Mdechi said they would only comment on the issue after meeting FAM on the matter.
