Chimodzi was responding to a question on whether Sangala has regained fitness to warrant Flames consideration.

“He has trained with the team for almost a month now and he is picking up well.

“But he needs game time for us to be able to assess whether he is fit enough to play. He has to find a club,” said Chimodzi.

When he announced his decision to bounce back from retirement, Sangala said it would take him two weeks to regain fitness.

And responding to Chimodzi’s suggestion, Sangala said he is finalising the process of joining a team.

“There are certain factors that we need to agree on before I can commit myself because I am also employed by the Football Association of Malawi (FAM).

“I will have to agree with the club to see how we can strike a balance in the event that I will be tied up at my workplace,” said Sangala.

On whether he will be able to juggle between being a national team player and liaison officer, Sangala said: “That is something that has already been addressed with management and I do not foresee any problem.

“For instance, as at now, I am able to train with the team and at the same time perform my duties without any problems, it all boils down to planning.”
