Dan Lu collaborates with Nigerian star

Musician Dan Lu has once again crossed the borders to collaborate with Nigerian star DJ Dellick on a  single titled You.

Speaking in an interview, Dan Lu said he met DJ Dellick four years ago when he went to Nigeria to record his hit single Sweet Banana with Kcee.

“During that trip, I met DJ Dellick and his elder brother Flavour. I actually recorded a song with Flavour, but the song is yet to be released,” he said.

Dan Lu maintained contact with the Nigerian star and it was only this year that they decided to work on this collaboration.

“I recorded my vocals here and sent him. The rest was done in Nigeria in his studio,” he said.

Dan Lu said he is happy with the collaboration, saying working with other artists has helped him take his music to greater heights.

“I am planning more local and international collaborations,” he said.

The artist has worked with several artists, including South Africa’s Ntosh Gazi and Vukani of the John Vuligate song. Locally, he has collaborated with Charisma, Saint and Phyzix, among others.

In a telephone interview, DJ Dellick said he decided to record the song with Dan Lu after being  impressed with the Malawian when he was working with Flavour.

“When he was recording with my brother Flavour, I saw how passionate, talented and hard-working Dan Lu is. And now here we are with this single,” he said.

DJ Dellick said he was pleased with the outcome and he believes his fans will appreciate it too.

“We will break new ground with this song,” he said.

DJ Dellick said the song will be part of his upcoming extended playlist (EP) project.

He said he wrote the song after getting inspired with the love that his friend is enjoying with a special woman.

“You is a song that celebrates love. It is a confession of love from a man to a woman he loves,” said DJ Dellick.

The artist has previously collaborated with household names in Nigeria such as Phyno and Flavour of the Nwa Baby fame.

DJ Dellick is a business administration graduate, but decided to venture into the entertainment industry soon after graduation in 2012.
